Vida Mejor is the name for two duplex buildings in Jamestown Park, Holetown St James. One two buildings have the same design. One is at no 15 and the other at no 20 Jamestown Park. Jamestown is the residential area next to Limegrove to the north. It is right over the bridge by Limegrove. The name is a spanish derivation and crudely translates to "Live Better".
The owner of the property is Carlton Jordan, a barbadian local who is a chartered accountant turn entrpreneur. He said the name was inspired by a philosophy of constantly improving the accomodation, thus "living better" or Vida Mejor, which is also translated 'better life".
The building at no 20 Jamestown house two, townhouse style apartments,each design for total privacy with their own entrance, own off street parking, own gardens and grounds and own private pool. These apartments are named Vida Mejor--Poolside and Vida Mejor--waterfall. This building was designed by Archis Design, a local bajan architect. It is an open plan with nice flow out to the pools and decks. The covered space for each Apartment is approximately 1750 square feet. There is a full kitchen, living, dining room, laundry room powder room, two ensuite bedrooms upstairs. This building was built is 2001 and have been well maintained and renoavted over the years.
The other duplex building at no 15 Jamestown Park, which is on the northern side has two similar apartments which are named Vida Mejor--East Pool and Vida Mejor --West Pool. the building is the same dimensions and layout as the one with the Poolside and Waterfall apartments. This building was built in 2007 and has also been well maintained and renovated over the years. This builing as a basement beaneath the apartments, which is used for office space, and staff quarters etc,
Vida Mejor East and West Pool apartments building can be linked by double door that can join the living rooms so that the whole building can be rented as a 4 bedroom property with two pools.
We have been renting since 2001, so as at 2024, that is 23 plus years.
Our main advantage is our location. we are 5 minutes walk from Holetown Beach. This is the beach where Mango Bay hotel and The Sandpiper hotels are. We are also 7 minutes walk from Massy Supermarket, 3 minutes walk from Limegrove and from 1st and 2nd street Holetown. There are many restaurants in Holetown all, within easy safe walking vicinity.
